Overview
Explore the volcanic landscapes, natural springs and wildlife of Tsavo West on a three-day private safari from Nairobi.
The journey takes you into one of Kenya’s largest national parks, where the landscape changes dramatically between open savannah, lava fields, wooded hills and natural springs. Game drives give you the chance to search for elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife.
You’ll also visit some of Tsavo West’s best known landmarks. Mzima Springs is a series of remarkably clear natural springs surrounded by lush vegetation, where hippos, crocodiles, fish and other wildlife can often be seen. The Shetani Lava Flow offers a completely different landscape, a vast stretch of hardened black lava formed by volcanic activity hundreds of years ago, creating one of the park’s most distinctive geological sights.
You’ll spend two nights at Severin Safari Camp in a Luxury Tent on Full Board. Set within Tsavo West, the camp offers a quieter, more intimate safari setting, with beautiful early mornings and evenings when the surrounding landscape is transformed by the colours of sunrise and sunset. For an even more memorable evening, a sundowner at Poacher’s Lookout can be arranged at an additional cost.
Your safari is private throughout, with your own 4×4 Land Cruiser and professional driver guide from Nairobi.

Tour Schedule
Day 1 — Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park
Depart Nairobi in the morning in your private 4×4 Land Cruiser and travel south-east towards Tsavo West National Park.
Enter the park and begin your first game drive as you make your way towards Severin Safari Camp.
Unlike the flatter plains associated with some of Kenya's other safari areas, Tsavo West has a much more varied landscape, with volcanic terrain, wooded areas, open plains and distant hills.
Arrive at Severin Safari Camp, settle into your Luxury Tent and enjoy the remainder of the day in the park before returning to camp.
Dinner and overnight at Severin Safari Camp.
Day 2 — Full Day in Tsavo West
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Tsavo West with your private driver-guide.
Your game drives can take you through different areas of the park in search of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelope and predators.
The day's route shall incorporate some of Tsavo West's distinctive landscapes and landmarks, including Mzima Springs and the Shetani Lava Flow.
Mzima Springs is one of the park's defining natural features, with freshwater springs creating a striking contrast with the surrounding dry and volcanic terrain.
Return to Severin Safari Camp for your second night.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3 — Tsavo West to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast at Severin Safari Camp before checking out.
Enjoy wildlife viewing as you make your way out of Tsavo West.
Continue by road to Nairobi, arriving in Nairobi later in the day.
