Overview
Samburu offers a very different safari experience from the Maasai Mara and Amboseli. Northern Kenya is home to wildlife you won't commonly see in the country's southern parks, including the reticulated giraffe and the endangered Grevy's zebra: both noticeably different from the giraffes and zebras seen in the Maasai Mara.
You'll also have the chance to look for the rest of the Samburu Special Five: gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich, alongside elephants, lions, leopards and other wildlife.
This private 3-day safari includes two nights at Samburu Sopa Lodge, game drives in Samburu National Reserve and return transport from Nairobi in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser with your own driver-guide.

Day 1 — Nairobi to Samburu
Morning pick-up from Nairobi by your private driver-guide and departure for Samburu.
Travel north through Kenya's central highlands towards Samburu, arriving at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch, depending on departure time and road conditions.
After lunch and some time to settle in, head out for your first afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

9. Day 2 — Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve.
Keep an eye out for Samburu's distinctive northern species, including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich, as well as elephants, big cats and other wildlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax before heading out again for an afternoon game drive.
Return to Samburu Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

10. Day 3 — Samburu to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out.
